Master Success with Kirov Master Classes
December 16th 2008: Masterpiece Dance Theatre, under the Artistic Direction of Golden Koscuik, produced a series of Vaganova master-classes at the Los Angeles Music Center. The master-classes featured guest teachers Gabriella Komleva, principal coach and former Prima Ballerina of the Kirov Ballet Company, and Alexander Klimov, Kirov Ballet Soloist. Long-time resident pianist and ballet accompanist Galo Bravo matched the skills of these two talented ballet instructors and delved out an equal display of pianistic virtuosity.
The series was made possible by collaboration with the Los Angeles Music Center, The Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at the Colburn, and the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center.
Registration began at 9:00AM with the first class beginning at 10:30AM (advanced professional level , instructed by Komleva); followed by an Intermediate-Advanced Teens at 1:30PM, instructed by Komleva; and finishing up with the Intermediate-Advanced Children’s class at 3:00PM, instructed by Alexander Klimov.
The master-classes were assisted and translated by Masterpiece Dance Theatre Ballet Mistress Nadya Koscuik, friend and colleague of guest teacher Gabriella Komleva.
Classes were by sponsor invitation and not publicly announced. Still, over 200 people participated in the classes including parents, school administrators, area dance teachers, and enthusiastic dance students including those from La Crescenta High School, the Colburn School of the Performing Arts, recent graduates from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), and dance students living adjacent to the downtown area.

What is BLUELITE?
The Druids did it at Stonehenge.... so did the ancient Mayans, Aztecs, and shamans throughout history.
BLUELITE is a revolutionary art form. Like venturing into a kaleidoscope, it involves dynamic, human movement to light, color and sound -- for joy, health, strength, spiritual awakening, and fun.
While resembling Tai Chi, modern dance, and martial arts--it's none of the above. Imagine choreographed and spontaneous movements inside a rainbow of colors, solo and paired movements exploring kinesiology, rhythm and syncopation to music. Intrigued? While a background in dance or fitness is helpful, anyone can explore the depths of BLUELITE -- a personal journey that transforms lives and uplifts the human spirit.
Michael An'gileo - The founder and instructor of BLUELITE, Michael has an extensive background in movement arts, including Instructor Level in Kenpo Karate, Taoist Kung Fu, and Shotokan Karate. Michael has studied modern dance, ballet, advanced strength training and kinesiology. He earned his degree at the USC School of Performing Arts, has traveled several continents, and is a lifelong educator.
